Terms of Service

Last updated: November 1, 2026. These terms govern your use of TithePay. By creating an account, you agree to them.

1. Service agreement

By signing up for TithePay, you agree to use the platform to accept, process, and report church giving through our integrated payment infrastructure. TithePay provides giving pages, donor tools, receipt generation, and payout processing on your behalf. You are responsible for the accuracy of your church's legal name, EIN, and banking details, and for ensuring your use of the platform complies with applicable laws and your denomination's policies.

2. Platform usage policies

You agree to use TithePay only for lawful church giving and related ministry purposes. You will not use the platform to process fraudulent gifts, support prohibited activities, or violate any law. Abuse, spam, or attempts to reverse engineering the platform may result in suspension. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Payment terms

TithePay charges a fixed monthly subscription plus per-transaction processing fees as shown on your plan and at checkout. All gifts are processed by our payment partner, Stripe, and deposited to your connected bank account on your chosen payout schedule. Refunds, chargebacks, and disputed gifts are handled according to Stripe's policies. Subscription fees are billed monthly and may be canceled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

4. Donor receipts and tax compliance

TithePay automatically generates receipts and annual giving statements for your donors. While we provide compliant, audit-ready records, your church remains responsible for confirming receipt wording meets your local tax authority's requirements and for any tax filing obligations. TithePay is not a tax advisor.

5. Data and privacy

You retain ownership of all donor and giving data you enter into TithePay. We handle that data as described in our Privacy Policy, using industry-standard encryption. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required from your donors before collecting their information.

6. Service availability

We work to keep TithePay available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, and events outside our control may cause brief downtime. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from service interruptions.

7. Account termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a risk to the platform or its users. Upon termination, you may export your giving data, and we will retain records as required by law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our service evolves. Material changes will be communicated to account holders in advance. Continued use of TithePay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
